In a Home by the Sea by Bill-Cityfingers In a Home by the Sea by Bill-Cityfingers
Or...

Self Portrait: Series II: Phase III - In a Home by the Sea

Title taken from that sweet Genesis track...

"Help us someone, let us out of here
living here so long undisturbed
dreaming of the time we were free
so many years ago
before the time when we first heard
welcome to the Home by the Sea"

This painting was an absolute bitch to do... No idea why... I am not really happy with it but maybe it will grow on me...

Anyway, Oil on Canvas, 20" x 24"

How chilling. I love it.
This was a remix that was made recently, it amplifies the mood I feel.

Yeah I know how you feel its the same with me... TO be honest I like it NOW... But didn't at the time... Its quite often like that, I'll finish a piece and hate it for weeks, then look back at it and start to grow fond of it!!

Hands ARE evil.. If we had my way they would be outlawed!! We are quite capable of eating with our feet!!!

Yeah!..only.. that'd be a little odd, ya know? Aaaand we wouldn't be able to brush our hair, teeth and use a back scratcher without some major difficulty.. maby outlaw hands in.. uh.. CD changing. So, you'd have to change to MP3 or die trying to get the CD out of the car radio!!!
Picture the future: :slamhead: Doh!! It don't work!! Yarr!!

Nah would be easy... your toes would evolve to become reeeeally long so you could do things that you never could do with your feet... Like hand from trees with your toes and eat jam from the very bottom of the jar

:icontoxicrini:

So...we'd eat jam with out toes.. like.. toe jam? Heh, but then you'd have to take into account the poeple who hate toes (like me!)... What then? I'm telling ya, we needs dem hands.

Alright ok you won't HAVE to use your toes... Also insead of hands.. In place of where the hands were... We have.......... CUTLERY! Yes... We will evolve so we have, on each arm, A Soup spoon, dessert spoon, teaspoon, fork, spork, knife and cheese grater... Ooohhh yes, I have seen the future... And it is so!

Twisted.... but sweet. Reminds me of Edgar Allan Poe's imagery. I'm sure he would have liked it too. ^_^
This is killer, the detail and the mystery, you cant quite tell where the blood's coming from. ---~~*Love It*~~---

Nice traditional painting. You did a great job on the hands.

I'm sure there are details that are lost in the digital presentation here. I've purchased several paintings on the web and was blown away when I actually had them in my hands. Many times details such as, tones, brush strokes, and built up layers of paint just are not picked up in photographs or scans.
